Weaving, revived
For five years, I worked at ZCycle and TES, pioneering responsible lithium battery recycling and closing the loop on 10,000 tons of batteries annually, contributing to the fight against climate change.
Outside my career, I enjoy everything life has to offer. Visiting the Antarctic and Arctic, I witnessed the devastating effects of climate change. The ice, once eternal, carved away at an alarming pace. A lone polar bear, adrift in its melting habitat.
While much attention has been given to the new energy sector, the traditional textile industry is often overlooked but responsible for 10% of global greenhouse gas emissions, being the third largest polluter. Excessive consumption has also led to a large amount of clothing being discarded. Despite our efforts in donating or reselling clothes, over 90% end up in landfills or incinerated. These learnings serve as a stark reminder: our love for fashion cannot come at the Earth’s cost.
Weavive is our solution, combining the recycling expertise of Reuben's and mine with Maggie’s 25 years in textile innovation. We revive pre-consumer and post-consumer textile and footwear waste into high-quality fibers and particles, creating safe, innovative materials and products.
Unlike traditional industries, Weavive offers clear visibility, tracking every fiber's journey to empower brands to make conscious choices. With state-of-the-art technology and a recycling network in 580 cities across China, scraps become new threads, and waste turns into valuable resources.
